Oyaide Receptacles

It seems like just a short time ago when we were one of the first two dealers to pick the line up, Oyaide was an unknown name here in the US. In the past year and a half that we have carried them, they have quickly established themselves as the premiere brand of "audio grade" receptacles. Oyaide has outdone themselves and upgraded the receptacles to the new "Ultimo" series. These new receptacles have slightly larger bodies than the previous models and seem to be even better constructed, if you can believe that! Below, please find photos of the inside construction and of the backstrap, which are both beefier than previous models.

Below are photos of the new blade contacts, which have been beefed up and hold the male plug with even more authority than their predecessor.

The "Ultimo" models are now available. All of the Oyaide receptacles are RoHS compliant as well as UL listed.

There are three versions of the receptacles, each similar in sound, ie. very open and transparent, with a very smooth midrange and high end. However, there are very slight differences in sound. All start with a highly (twice) polished deoxidized phosphor Bronze base, with the difference being the plating:

The black receptacle is the SWO-DX Ultimo, which has extra thick (1.5 micron) Silver base plating with Rhodium plating (0.3 micron) to finish. Surface is thoroughly (twice) polished before each plating process. This is a great receptacle for systems that need just a tad more detail. Never harsh sounding, but if your system tends to be slightly tipped up on the top end, consider the Gold plated version, as this may give you "too much of a good thing". This receptacle is great with "tubey" tube gear! $89.00/each deep cryogenically treated.

The red receptacle is the Ultimo SWO-GX, which has extra thick (2 micron) 24K direct Gold plating. Surface is thoroughly (twice) polished before each plating process. This receptacle is ever so slightly warmer sounding than the other two. Great for use with solid state gear and slightly lean sounding components. $94.50/each deep cryogenically treated.

The purple receptacle is the Ultimo SWO-XXX, which has extra thick (1.5 micron) 24K Gold plating with Palladium plating (0.3 micron) to finish. Surface is thoroughly (twice) polished before each plating process. This is our favorite. Stunningly transparent, suitable for use with the finest high performance audio gear available. Use with any piece of gear that that is very neutral and uncolored. $99.50/each deep cryogenically treated.

Oyaide's state of the art receptacle, the 20A rated R1.

We are very, very impressed with the latest offering from Oyaide. In addition to incorporating all of the features of the above Ultimo's, the R1 is a 20A rated receptacle. For those of you that require (or want) a 20A receptacle, here you go!

These start with a base of Beryllium, which is highly polished (twice), upon which layer of Palladium is laid down (and polished twice), on which a layer of Platinum is laid over (and polished twice).

Did we mention...all layers are highly polished in between coats? After all, would you expect any less from Oyaide?
