Cardas Sennheiser Plug
Finally! Cardas has released a Sennheiser replacement plug--and it is GREAT!
These are designed to fit the Sennheiser HD580, HD600 and HD650. No more cutting and "Dremeling" a stock plug, in other words--no more kludging in order to build a replacement cable for your Senn's. This plug is rhodium plated and fits nice and snug into the headphone--after all it's a Cardas!
Easy to work with, if you are not a newbie at soldering, and if you take a couple of precautions:
- Heatsink the pins and only heat the pins just enough to flow the solder--no heavy handed/high heat soldering please.
- After soldering, fill the hole that the wires attach to with hot glue or a quick setting epoxy.
- Make sure to use good strain relief techniques and don't be afraid to use some heatshrink.
If you follow the precautions above, these plugs will last a lifetime. But, you have been warned, heat the pins up too much and you will ruin them.
